Site Investigations - Sites are investigated for most any reason where the facts about soils on the site must be documented. Some examples include the extent of prime farmland, hydric soils (see wetland delineations), highly erodible lands, and land that has been disturbed. A published soil survey should be reviewed for many soil related issues. Direct on-site investigations are often needed to verify and refine the published soil map.
